Patricia J. Hanson, 69, of Sioux City died peacefully Sunday, June 26, 2005, at her residence surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 8 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.
Patricia was born Jan. 14, 1936, the daughter of William and Anna (Hardy) Jordan. She lived in Sioux City for most of her life. She attended Heelan High School.
She married Arley Suggitt. She later married Kirk Hanson. She worked as a waitress, a probation officer and was still doing foster care just prior to her death.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. The most important things in her life was taking care of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her foster children.
She is survived by her children, Randy and Deb Suggitt of Sioux City, Rob and Gloria Suggitt of Jackson, Mich., Russ Suggitt of Sioux City, Rhonda and Randy Coleman of Horton, Mich., and Rod and Sandy Suggitt of Omaha; a daughter-in-law, Michele Suggitt of San City, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister and her husband, Margaret and Jerry Emerick of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kirk Hanson; a daughter, Rene Suggitt; a son, Rick Suggitt; a brother, Robert Jordan; and two sisters, Mary Ann Emerick and Joyce Leming.
Pallbearers will be Canden Suggitt, Joel Suggitt, Chad DeRocher, Colin Suggitt, Jon Suggitt, Michael Suggitt and Ryan Suggitt.
A memorial has been established in her name for Hospice of Siouxland.
