OBITUARY.
Martha Hendershot was born in West Virginia, Sept. 8, 1850, and died at her home in Wetmore, Kas., Jan. 10, 1922, at the age of 72 years, four months and two days. While yet a child she came west with her parents and settled in Missouri. She was married to Stephen Conger August 13, 1871. To this union were born nine children, five of whom have preceeded her to the long home. The four that survive her are: Aaron Conger of Woodson, Kas.; David Conger of Hillsdale, Kas.; Carl Conger of Bennett, Colo., and Hattie Gilliland of Bancroft, Kas. Her husband passed away Feb. 7, 1916, at Rockville, Mo. She united with the Christian church in her youth and live a consistent christian life continually to the end. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a loyal neighbor and friend, and will be greatly missed not only by her family and immediate relatives, but by all who know her. She leaves to mourn her loss her four children, somewhere in 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters -- C. W. Hendershot, Mrs. Susan Earhart, Mr.s A. W. Dickson of Wetmore and Mrs. Mary Beaman of Kansas City.
Funeral Services were held at the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Gowdy of Goff preaching the sermon, after which the remains were laid to rest in Wetmore Cemetery.
Mrs. Conger's children and her brothers and sisters were all with her during her last illness.
